Mynaa will spring a surprise: Udhayanidhi

He is known not just as the Chief Minister’s grandson, but also as a successful producer, a shrewd entrepreneur and a considerate boss. Now, Udhayanidhi Stalin is gearing up to increase that list of titles that he holds. Yes, the man is all set to act in a film that is to be directed by Rajesh, whose Boss Engira Baskaran has now become a huge hit.
Says Udhayanidhi, “It is true. I’ll be working with Rajesh on a film that is yet to be titled. We’ll be starting this project in December as Rajesh is fine-tuning the script.”
Giving more details of the project, the producer-turned-actor says, “The movie will be a feel good romantic comedy. A major part of the cast and crew is yet to be finalised. In fact, except for Santhanam and Nirav Shah, who has been chosen as the cameraman of the film, the rest are yet to be decided.”
He’s already proved himself to be an astute businessman by choosing scripts that seem to work at the box office and many in the industry also vouch for the fact that he can be a director’s delight, not just as a producer but also as an actor. In such a scenario, when any director would be more than willing to work with him, why is that he has chosen to make his debut in a film made by Rajesh?
Says Udhayanidhi, “I enjoyed Siva Manasula Sakthi very much. And now, Boss Engira Baskaran has also become a big hit with the audience. Though I had many options to choose from for my first film, I finally settled for Rajesh as I liked his style and sense of humour and I felt instantly comfortable with him.”
While on the one hand, he seems to be gearing up for his new role as an actor, he has in no way cut down on his responsibilities as a producer. Even recently, the man, after watching a film titled Mynaa, chose to procure its rights along with Kalpathi S Agoram.
Question him about the film and he signs off saying, “Mynaa is an unusual and intense film which left me spellbound. It’ll exceed the expectations of the Tamil audience. The performances of the actors, music, story and screenplay are all novel. This movie will spring a surprise!”
